• I have worked in a variety of settings including in the outpatient setting of a large public hospital, in a large university counseling center, and at an eating disorder treatment center.
• As someone who values the scientific evidence that influences therapy I have contributed a large published body of research on a variety of topics. These include research focused on developing emotion regulation strategies in LGBTQ individuals related to eating disorders, how to lower mental health treatment seeking stigma to increase treatment access among BIPOC populations, and using scalable mental health treatments to increase treatment access. I’ve also presented this research at regional, national, and international conferences.
• I enjoy community outreach to ensure that individuals are educated in mental health therapy. I currently serve on the board as the DEI chair of Atlanta Group Psychotherapy Society. I also serve as new membership co-chair for the Atlanta chapter of the international association of eating disorder professionals or IAEDP.
I am originally from New York and moved to Atlanta in 2022 after I completed graduate school at Auburn. As someone who grew up in a Black and Latino household many people in my family who needed mental health treatment didn’t have access to care or have someone who looked like them that they could see. This influenced my desire to become a therapist so that I could be a resource for those who didn’t have one. In my free time you can often find me outside hiking or playing pickleball and volleyball. I’m also usually finding ways to keep my very active kitty, Pluto, entertained as well as exploring new coffee shops to find the best dirty chai or boba tea. I also enjoy all things Pokémon, concerts and music festivals, as well as traveling around the world.
